New Music 11/2/18:

Hot off the presses: new music!  Better said, new music that is worth your time.

Well, shit, this is awkward… there isn’t any new music worth your time this week.  Hey, not every week is a gem.  I promised not to recommend filler, why would I start now – I value your time, after all.  Remember, friends; I sift through the pile so that you don’t have to.

Also released (and not strong enough to recommend):

Tenacious D – Post Apocalypto

Yes, it hurts me to say it: this is some garbage, folks.  Jack and Kyle put on one Hell of a show when I saw them in Mexico City this summer, and their debut record remains a goofball-rock classic.  Even their subsequent work, while nowhere near as good, had some redeeming value.  This thing is a stinker, and that’s all I have to say about that.  Oh, and I’m sorry I ruined your Black Panther party (deep cut, folks).

The Prodigy – No Tourists

While I do enjoy a handful of their songs, this band has never been one to get my attention.  They continue to not do that here.  I’m not saying this is bad, but I’m not going to say it’s good, either.

Sun Kill Moon – This is My Dinner

More spoken-word ramblings from Mr. Kozelek that make me chuckle occasionally, but mostly I find myself bored and wishing he would go back to making actual songs – some of those were actually pretty good.  If you are unfamiliar with this guy, please don’t listen to this, go check out one of these two albums he wrote back when he had an actual musical muse.
