Wherein, postponed > canceled…
As you have no doubt heard (again and again today)…
There will be a music (and yoga, film, comedy, food, brew, etc) festival in the thriving and underrated metropolis of Boise in 2020, but it gun’ be in September. Thanks to COVID-19 and an abundance of caution/hysteria, things have been put on hold for six months at which point this will have all blown over or we are in way deeper shit than I realized.
No doubt the impressive lot of local bands and talent will still be on the bill, but the question remains: how many of the announced bands will find their way here in the fall? Only time will tell, but I for one am hoping Chris King & the Gutterballs, Mikal Cronin, Lauren Ruth Ward, Calexico, Summer Cannibals, Dance with the Dead, Sonny & the Sunsets, and The Black Tones stick with us.
Also, with six months to work on it- can you PLEASE book Timber Timbre and/or Damien Jurado, two of the PNW’s finest musical happenings?!??!??
Silver lining: the weather in Boise in late September… marvelous. The weekend it has been moved to (9/23-9/27) is a BSU football roadie (#weareatmarshall). With any luck, the festival may just become a fall Boise institution (sorry, Hyde Park Festival)… or, just maybe, become bi-annual.
At any rate, here’s to the countdown beginning again- 196 days to go!
